Squash has had a real impact on me personally. It’s been a vehicle for physical fitness, yes, but also for patience, resilience, focus, and friendships. That’s why I’m passionate about being a squash advocate in Detroit, Michigan.
I believe squash in Michigan can be more than a niche sport. It can be a platform for:
Pairing experienced players with newer players in a way that feels welcoming, not intimidating.
Teaching goal-setting, discipline, and confidence through training and match play.
Squash is one of the most efficient 'full system' workouts you can do.
Cross-generational, cross-background, and genuinely supportive when clubs and players choose to make it that way.
My goal is simple: help grow Detroit Squash and Michigan Squash by showing up, supporting new players, encouraging juniors, and helping create pathways for more people to try the sport without feeling like they need permission.
If you run a squash program, coach, club, youth organization, or community initiative in Detroit or across Michigan, I'd love to support however I can.
